LOVE

MONDAY

"See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him." - 1 John 3:1 NRSV

Love.  We celebrate the arrival of Jesus Christ this week.  And is we share gifts, let us remember the greatest gift given to us from Jesus, "Love".

Is there anything better that we have been given than that Love from Jesus?

And this Love, this love is simple, unconditional, complete and intentional.  This love sees us and is with us and for us because it's from Jesus.

Let us enjoy the gift of Love and most of all, share it with others.

Be Blessed, Beloved.

TUESDAY

"Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love." - 1 John 4:8  NRSV

In this time of holy anticipation, we await Jesus.  Rumors and Hope were told for centuries of a deliverer, a redeemer, a liberator.

So many for so long wanted and needed Jesus.  Why?  Because so many people needed to be loved.

Love does not allow for slavery.  Love does not support discrimination.   Love does bend towards injustice.  Love does tolerate "isms".  Love does not make room for hate.

Anyone who claims to know God and yet partipates in oppression and -isms, intentionally or accidentally, is not showing Love, and therefore does not know God.

Sisters and Brothers, as await the coming of Jesus, let us prepare ourselves as well and make sure that we Love.

Let us Love one another as we Love ourselves.... MORE.

Be Blessed, Beloved.

WEDNESDAY

"The Lord , your God, is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing" -

Zephaniah 3:17 NRSV

In the Old Testament, the legacy of wars, oppression, famine and disease, reigns of terror and disappointments done by neighbors to neighbors was legendary.

It seemed no matter God's people lived, extreme evil was waiting for them.  There was no escape.  In times of desperation they self-medicated in actions and words that were destructive.

Yet.  Yet there was a prophet who reminded them that their God was always with them, that redemption and rescue was always available.

That LOVE would make them brand new creatures.... in Christ.

Brothers and Sisters, as we fet ready to celebrate the birth of Christ, let us remember two things:

1. Christ has been, is, and will always be with US!  In our midst is where Jesus will be... ALWAYS!

2. Love is Jesus in action!  We celebrate His birth, we celebrate that His birth is a celebration of His Loving Action in and for our lives... Renewing us!

That is a gift.  Let us celebrate this love!  And let us share this love.

Be Blessed, Beloved.

THURSDAY

"Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony."  - Colossians 3:14 NRSV

Before we take our shower.  Before we attire ourself in anything.  Before we  have that cup of coffee, tea, or whatever.  Before we do anything, we are to clothe ourself in love.

Get dressed in love.  Accessorize in Love.  Polish and lace up in Love.  Have wrinkle free Love.  Color coordinate in Love.  Pattern out in Love.  Bundle up in Love.  Black-Tie formalize and Casual Friday in Love.

Once we are dressed in Love, we can wear the design that Jesus has for us.

We celebrate His arrival tomorrow.  Let us clothe ourselves accordingly.

Be Blessed, Beloved.

FRIDAY

"On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they knelt down and paid him homage. Then, opening their treasure chests, they offered him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh." – Matthew 2:11

The verse has all of the themes of Advent.

1. Joy - They offered Him gifts.

2. Hope - They saw the child.

3. Peace - Upon entering the house.

4. Love. - And they knelt down and paid Him homage.

The three wise men.  Wisest men.  Good and Grown men.  Men of stature.  Men of renknown.  Men of intellectual and scientific skill.

Once in the presence of Jesus, three, wise, men fell to their knees.  Nothing could prepare them for the love Jesus had for them.

As a child, a newborn, Jesus had a Love so powerful that it rendered these Men to thier knees.

Jesus, thank for being born to Love us.  You love us so much.  And that Love is the only gift any of us will ever need.  Thank You!

Merry Christmas and Be Blessed, Beloved.
